Most of the conference participants will need to apply a visa to enter Vietnam except for a short list of countries. If your country of citizenship is not in the list, we advise you to apply for a “pre-approval for visa on arrival” online in advance. We recommend the tourist Visa which is simplier. This can be done online and does not need you to send your passport. You will get visa on arrival with the printed letter of pre-approval at the major airports of Vietnam. However, if you choose a business Visa, you will need an invitation letter. VNU University of Economic and Law can provide invitation letters, please see below. You can find all the information and do the online application of pre-approval for visa on arrival at the following website:
Cambodia has visa waiver program for an even shorter list of countries. Most of us will have to apply an E-Visa in advance. Please check out the following websites for the general information of Cambodia and e-visa application. For those who plan to travel to Cambodia after conference, if you need to go back to HCMC, you have to apply two entries when you apply the visa for Vietnam.
Vietnam National University – University of Economics and Law will be providing invitation letters for visas. Please contact:
Vietnam offers a variety of experiences in its last lands. Roughly speaking, the country is separated into the North (centered around current capital city, Hanoi), Central (around the ancient capital city of Hue), and the South (around the commercial center, Ho Chi Minh City).
The cities offer vibrant night life, while there are plenty to offer for nature lovers as well (such as Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO heritage site). Be sure to also catch the foodie culture, and some of the best fruits in the world!
A few pieces of eye candy:
Cambodia and Vietnam have a close relationship. Both are connected by the powerful Mekong River. In the olden days, merchants, farmers, and traders would traverse the river – making a pivotal point in the French Indochine region. One of the most riveting ancient world.
Once known as the lost city, Angkor Wat is sometimes known as the eighth wonder of the ancient world. With spectacular Hindi/Buddhist temples swallowed over the years by the rain forest, it has made for some great Hollywood movie scenery such as Lara Croft. The temple is a mere stone’s throw away from Vietnam. Certainly not to miss.
We are helping to coordinate excursions within HCMC, Halong Bay, and Siem Reap (Angkor Wat). These fees are not included in the registration fees.
